YOGA INSTRUCTOR
At 3 years old, Lydia was introduced to different ways of moving the body at Marygrove College’s Creative Movement classes. She studied dance for over 10 years and through dance, she was introduced to yoga postures and breathing techniques. Her love of yoga grew from there.
She started her personal practice in undergrad and quickly saw the transformation yoga offered the mental and physical body. At Citizen Yoga, Lydia was introduced to the philosophy of yoga and decided to begin her teacher’s journey there. During her teacher training, she learned alignment based principles in the body, through poses, and in the mind, through self-study. She created her mission to align the experience of her personal practice with the needs of her community.
By sharing alignment-based yoga with her hometown, Lydia is continuing her personal mission of healing her community both from a social-political perspective and through overall well-being. You can catch Lydia in the Law Library of Wayne State, on her mat, or guiding a Yoganic Flow class.
Lydia guides the following Yoganic Flow class: Saturdays at 9:00am EST every Saturday
