Trista found her love for yoga and meditation in the fall of 2009. After nearly a decade of practicing both asana and meditation, she began teaching and sharing yoga. With a background in Anusara and Hatha yoga, teacher training at Karma Yoga in Bloomfield Hills as well as Sianna Sherman, and an apprenticeship with Natalie Piet, Trista’s teaching style focuses on heart-based movement. She asks each student to harness their own power and dedication through intention, clear alignment and action.
Trista is devoted to helping herself and others on the healing path, with her go-to tools being yoga, breathwork and meditation. She feels that how we show up on our mat translates and sets the tone for everyday life. She also believes that yoga is not about flexibility or showmanship, but instead a way to empower through learning self-trust, wisdom and forgiveness. This can be done by getting back into our bodies, giving gratitude and being in the present moment. Remembering we’re part of a bigger whole and that we help ourselves when we practice together.
Trista believes yoga is absolutely accessible for everyone everywhere and that joining the healing story of our city is necessary, on and off the mat.
