You might be wondering why we are posting about smoothies and things of that nature but little do we realize, smoothies and yoga go hand in hand. A smoothie before your yoga practice is defiantly an energy booster especially if you put a ton of goodness in it.
Lately I have been trying to get back into a healthier eating lifestyle because I figured all this yoga I’m doing is only going to go so far if my eating habits are not balanced. For the last three weeks I have been juicing and making daily smoothies a hour or so before yoga or whenever I find the time. This has helped my skin clear up, my digestive system become more fluid and my energy level is on 100 all because of a smoothie that I made within two minutes.
So you may be thinking “what are the benefits of consuming a healthy smoothie daily?”
Well there are over twenty reasons I can think of off the top of my head but in this post I will cover three main reasons that you should start to incorporate them into your daily practice just like your yoga.
- Smoothies help you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies: If you are a busy person like me and sometimes you can’t find the time to cook up a vegetable dish or peel a ton of oranges, you can throw in your favorite vegetables and fruits and blind them within minutes to meet your daily nutritional needs.
- Improved digestion: Well no one wants to experience a tummy ache from the lack of properly digesting your food. Our blenders “chew” our food and ease the burden on our digestive system while we simultaneously consume plenty of dietary fiber to ensure excellent digestion.
- Build muscle and improve our yoga performance: Smoothies help our body with the nutrients it needs to excel during our practice, and recover and rebuild after our session. It’s easier for your body to absorb and assimilate the nutrients in a smoothie as opposed to a meal.
And I can keep going on and on but it’s up to you to take action so you can see the benefits within your life just like yoga. Someone can tell you “Yoga has changed my life,” “Yoga is such a powerful tool,” but not until your on your mat, breathing deep that the benefits start to really resonate with your spirit.
